A short road trip through the Netherlands was a great way to spend time with friends and discover the culture. Find below the few places I had the chance to enjoy, hoping you would like them too.
Texel
This famous holiday island is the perfect place for a one-day excursion. Rent some electric bikes and make your way through the Duinen van Texel National Park for some sightseeing and swimming. If you are from the brave ones (unlike me), book a skydive experience to see the island from far above.
On the way back, you can stop by Callantsoog for a nice sunset dinner on the beach.
Scheveningen
The Hague offers an endless beach crossed by this magnificent peer, painted with the colours of the rainbow. Catch a ride on the Ferris Wheel and head to Madurodam to experience all the famous Dutch buildings but, as miniatures. ย
Volendam
Visit this typical village for an authentic experience. Start by a stop at Foto de Boer to get your picture taken in traditional outfits and try some raw haring in one of the harbourโs restaurants.
Alkmaar
Beautiful architecture, narrow paved streets and buildings leaning over canals are awaiting for you in this gorgeous town.
